About the Practitioner

Sarah is a CAMTC certified massage therapist, with over 700 hours of certified training and 16 years of professional experience.  She combines her knowledge of anatomy with her intuitive skills for a unique blend of East & West massage techniques.  Her bodywork sessions address your body’s physical stresses and helps balance emotional and energetic components that our bodies collect.  Her sessions have elements of a sports massage and are also deeply restorative and balancing.  She has a deep passion for human anatomy that can be experienced through her detailed massage work.  Sarah views the human body as an amazing, complex, organic machine that needs its “tune ups” to thrive in this modern day world where we demand a lot from our bodies.  We work hard, we play hard, we have our emotional ups and downs, and our everyday stresses.  Living with chronic pain greatly decreases our enjoyment in life, and ignoring pain signals can lead to more debilitating conditions.  Regular massage can decrease stress and help break up tension and compensation patterns in the body, whether they are emotional or physical.  Massage can be a preventative or rehabilitative therapy.  It can help us think more clearly, develop awareness of self, and be more present in the moment, allowing us to be more mindful in our everyday actions.

Sarah began her studies in massage and bodywork in 2003 at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, California.  Here she studied the foundations of Eastern Massage including: Shiatsu, Tui Na, Acupressure, Chinese Meridian Theory, Tai Chi & Qi Gong.  In 2006, shortly after earning her first massage certificate, she began working as a chiropractic assistant and continued her studies and training in Western Anatomy & Physiology. Along with Trigger Point, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage techniques, and advanced Shiatsu.  With 11 years of experience working with the chiropractor, she has gained a vast experience of working with people with scoliosis, vertebral disc problems, whip lash, sprains and strains, and repetitive stress injuries.

She has extensive training in anatomy including cadaver dissection workshops and continues an ongoing study in human anatomy and bodily systems.  She has taken courses in Jin Shin Jyutsu and Spiritual Dimensions of Healing which have helped shape her energetic and intuitive skills.  She has a regular Tai Chi and Qi Gong practice that she integrates into her daily life and into her bodywork sessions.  She enjoys the great outdoors, hiking, traveling, painting, art, music, and film.
